The Organ and the Blade
04:43
|
|||
Awake to find the season’s changed
In my head it’s just another coat to hang
Together for the winter hardened day
As the night begins to win in it’s own way
But I didn’t see it coming strong for you
Where I’m from the chill thaws out by afternoon
Will mistaken conversations be our ruin?
If my memory did serve
The organ and the blade
It’s my heart and the way I behave
And I know there’s two parts to be learned from mistakes
Learning that I lose
As much as I gain there’s no way
My intention is true but the blame’s not my own
Only heart
A red stain a pain I cannot know
Made worse the little ways you hurt your own
Put the t in toleration pay the toll
And refuse a need it’s hard to see the road
To a time when I can tip the scales around
There’s a way of being heard without a sound
Will I linger on the cost of breaking ground?
If my memory did serve
The organ and the blade
It’s my heart and the way I behave
And I know there’s two parts to be learned from mistakes
Learning that I lose
As much as I gain there’s no way
My intention is true but the blame’s not my own
Only heart

Where Is There Room
04:32
|
|||
Running in from the lake
Wishing that the towel on your neck was my lips
Pretending to fish
Just to have something to do
How loud do you think we can be in this room
I feel you too
Grab a sweater at night
I’m just a bit less drunk than your cousin’s friends
But I’m sobering
You touch my hand as you pass
I don’t say a word I catch your eye in a flash
Let the others laugh
Where is there room for you?
Where is there room for you?
Splitting my life in two
Where is there room for you?
Won’t keep it out of my mind
Tear down the dikes that keep the waters at bay
They'll come anyway
Cold surprise of the pain
Part of me is thankful I hope you feel the same
Don’t want it to fade
So is this how it’ll be
Running from your likeness pictures sending me down
I’m out of town
God I know that we tried
You force a feeling and it becomes a lie
Don’t run don’t hide
Where is there room for you?
Where is there room for you?
Splitting my life in two
Where is there room for you?
Where is there room for you?
Where is there room for you?
Where is there room for you?
Where is there room for you?

Better Make
04:29
|

Talk
Talking is fine until
You run out of things to say
Feel
Feeling is better make
Sure you can feel
Love
Love that I try to feel
Trying to love
Wait
Hell is a Holiday Inn won’t you
Stay
Tell me I’ll see you again
Hating
Every word that I say
Take
More than I care to replace
Break
Break like need to find
Someway out
Build
Building a world inside
Show me your world
Wait
Hell is a Holiday Inn won’t you
Stay
Tell me I’ll see you again
Hating
Every word that I say
Take
More than I care to replace
Wait
Hell is a Holiday Inn won’t you
Stay
Tell me I’ll see you again
Hating
Every word that I say
Take
More than I care to replace
Who
Who knows you like I do
You know me too

Useless Bay
03:04
|
|||
Left my mind down in Useless Bay
I don’t want to be always
Tied to what’s in my old brain
Left my baby on Wasted Lane
Couple months I need to say
Can we go our separate ways
How the moon can know which way we go
Left my eyes up on Hunger Way
Never enough more always
Got to find another way
My friend told me to lay away
Couple dollars forty years guess I’ll be like old and gray
Gonna need an IRA
How the moon can know which way we go
Left my mind down in Useless Bay
I don’t want to be always
Tied to what’s in my old brain
